If you or a member of your family in law enforcement has been negatively impacted by the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) or Government Pension Offset (GPO), please submit comments to the committee by following the instructions on the committee's submissions page.
The committee recently held a field hearing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana entitled “Social Security's Disservice to Public Servants: How the Windfall Elimination Provision and Government Pension Offset Mistreat Government Workers.”
At the hearing, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason T. Smith (R-MO) asked that any and all public employees who are negatively impacted by these provisions contact the committee and have their comments made a part of the official record.
